mcdonald’s fries are wayyyy overrated. always oversalted, too crispy or too soft, minimal substance, almost always too hot. wendy’s every day.
some good points. too hot and too soft are definitely common-ish problems. minimal substance is really mcd’s in general: i find a solitary burger from most other places more filling than one of their full combos. as for the other two, i generally lean pretty salty anyway and i’ve thus far never met a fry i’d call too crispy (my favorites of any given mcd’s batch are those slivers of pure crisp clustered ‘round the bottom). another thing i just remembered: they take vinegar the best—maybe due to aforementioned unique flavor additive??
