mcdonald’s fries are wayyyy overrated. always oversalted, too crispy or too soft, minimal substance, almost always too hot. wendy’s every day.
some good points. too hot and too soft are definitely common-ish problems. minimal substance is really mcd’s in general: i find a solitary burger from most other...

1. wtf is combo pizza? 2. what’s the #1 fries? (agreed that wendy’s and a&w are both good)
1. combination is pep&cheese with mushrooms and green peppers. maybe it’s a regional thing? what do you call it where you are?
2. mcdonald’s, always&4ever. the thin and crispy is what does it. (my mother mentioned the...

RE: loose thoughts/observations
a word i really like: languid. you know those summer days where it’s so mercilessly hot that everything drags and gets hazy and you just wanna sleep? that’s what languid always sounds like to me. when i say it slowly it feels like humidity as it rolls out of my mouth.
my uncle has been saying this for a while, and upon trying, i can confirm: a&w has stepped their fry game up...

RE: a confession
once—i can’t remember if i was in a particularly bad state or what, actually let’s just say i was because that’s an excuse—i was moved to “fuck yeah” tears by an episode of the new knight rider.

i’ve figured out what really gets to me about rage comics. (i’ll stress now that this is meant as a personal impression and not a formal invective.) part of it is how industrial it feels it feels; how brutalist its mode of expression, like they’re trying to overwrite/subsume all the potential idiosyncrasies of individual experience with a new lowest common denominator language;...
RE: ever get dashboard deja vu?
weird feeling, that.
RE: colonel sanders
somebody my mom knew once sat next to colonel sanders on a plane. apparently he was still wearing the white suit. it must be weird to be simultaneously a person and a widely recognizable mascot.

RE: tonight in seeing movies way too late for my...
(500) days of summer, which i’ve been meaning to see since ever; first because i heard it was good, then because i heard a bit more about it and it sounded like something i’d hate, and my contrarian streak was thus piqued. aaand: meh. i didn’t hate it as much as i thought i would, but i didn’t like the parts i expected to not like and i don’t feel i gained much more...

RE: loose thoughts/observations
i’m not sure where this notion comes from—movies, i guess? the wackness had some part in it, i’m sure—but sometimes when i’m waiting at a bus stop, or standing in line, i feel as though i should be able to strike up a conversation with anybody just by saying “fuckin’ giuliani, eh?”
i’ve figured out that to be able to get any substantial book-reading done...

RE: natural born killers
i watched natural born killers a little while ago and i’m not sure how facetious stone is being but i think it’d only work if it knows it’s “edgy” (as opposed to edgy); which is to say a parody of satire—stuff like transmetropolitan, that gets high off the first whiff of insight and doesn’t wait to come back down before it does its thing; thinks it’s some...

she had a look in her eyes that day…y’know, defiant; like a wild horse staring into the barrel of the future without blinking.
